Wood is one of the most important resources in the colony. It is used for a task called log raising, when people come together to help build a log cabin; we needed each other's help and it became a time to be with other people. The settlers of Pennsylvania meet their needs by using wood for homes, wagons, tools, crates, benches, and bowls. The Pennsylvanian view on slavery is tolerant. An education law in Pennsylvania was passed earlier in the 1683 making school attendance mandatory. However, the literacy rate is average because this law was not strictly enforced so many people didn't pay attention to it.
